Our History
Tonkin Plumbing’s roots were originally from New Zealand. Both Phillip Tonkin and Terry Swney finished their five year apprenticeships under the same mentor and company in the small town of Matamata, or better now known as Hobbiton.
Over 40 years ago Phillip moved to California and worked for a small plumbing company in Moreno Valley – Rancho Plumbing.
In 1987 Phillip branched out and opened Tonkin Plumbing solo with only 1 plumbing truck, 1 plumber and Tonkin Plumbing was formed.
In 1992, Terry moved to California and a partnership was formed creating Tonkin Plumbing Incorporated. Over the years, Tonkin Plumbing has grown into a successful family oriented company that is thankful for its customer service oriented employees, their professional attitude and more importantly our customers.
In 2017 Phillip retired from the plumbing industry and the business continues under the leadership of Terry who is extremely proud of our crew that work hard along side of Terry in the running of everyday operations.
Located off the 91/215/60 freeway interchange, Tonkin Plumbing is here to continue to exceed your plumbing expectations!
